Art has
always been
a part of who Rhea is. She chose
to be primarily a self taught
artist, with an upbringing in
both NY and California, has
visited most western and eastern
United States, and most recently
took an ACIS trip to Greece and
Italy with her son. All of what
and artist sees effects their
ideas and the result of their
work. Rhea is a studio artist
which allows the time for the
fascinating details that are the
foundation of what we cherish in
our lands. Also enthusiastic as
a plein air artist, her brush
flows loosely to capture the
essence of the day and place
that is inspiring her and the
treasures we all share and need
to care for. As a natural result
of time spent traveling through
and studying the lush beauty and
open mountain top views that are
characteristic of the
Adirondacks, the resulting
quality of her work is her own
vision, but has been compared to
Hudson River School artists.
Her work has been exhibited at
the
Adirondack Museum Rustic Fair, Lake Placid Lodge, Adirondack Art Society Show, Old
Forge Center for the Arts, Adirondack Rustic Expo, winning
Peoples Choice Award for 2005, and Adirondack Living Show. In
addition, her work embellished
award winning “Best Adirondack
Furniture” at the Western Design
Conference 2005 in Cody,
Wyoming. Rhea’s original
paintings and giclee prints are
sought by collectors throughout
the United States. Originals are
best acquired by commission,
attending shows or Adirondack
Rustics Gallery. Prints may be
seen at Adirondack Rustic
Gallery, Adirondack Museum Store in Lake Placid and Blue
Mountain, Blue Mountain Design,
The Open Window, Jean Sweet Interiors, and Adirondack Country Store.
